Eid Al Adha 2019 events : Exciting things to do during Eid Holidays

Qatar and its residents are all decked up to enjoy the long week of celebrations of Eid Al Adha. With an unrivalled line-up of entertainment from fascinating mall shows, to exciting outdoor activities and night skies full of fantastic fireworks, there is surely something for everyone. So if you’re looking for interesting things to do during the holidays, we’ve got you covered!

Yesterday, Katara Cultural Village announced that it is preparing a unique array of events that will last for four days. The activities will start from 4 pm and will run until 10 pm from 11 August to 14 August.
Al Thuraya Planetarium will screen 3D movies from the second to fourth day of Eid including “Dawn of the Space Age,” “The Perfect Little Planet,” and “The Astronaut” at 5pm (Arabic) and 7pm (English).

During the first four days of Eid, Katara Esplanade will be a hub for events and activities including performances by the Police Training Institute military band at 8pm, distribution of Eid gifts at 9pm and fireworks display at 10pm, in addition to a children’s play area which will be open from 5pm till 10pm.
Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah, two of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, are expected to attract thousands of visitors hosting Eid celebrations from August 12 to 16 from 5pm to 11pm.

After a successful six-week run, Summer in Qatar’s (SiQ) centrepiece, Summer Entertainment City located at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre reopens its doors this coming Friday, offering its visitors skill and virtual reality games, rides, live entertainment, food and retail shops under one roof. It will be open until August 29 from 1.30pm till 11pm (Saturday to Wednesday) and from 1pm to 11pm (Thursday and Friday).
The City hosts some of the world’s most-advanced VR simulators, gaming stations and themed gaming areas, including Pac-Man, Beat Sabers, and FIFA.

Concert-goers, movie fans and live entertainment lovers are in for a treat with several live events including three unique shows at Qatar National Convention Centre including The Blueman Show from August 14 to 17, Omid, Nemr & Hamad Comedy Show on August 15 and Kadim Al Saher concert on August 16 to 17.
The much awaited eighth South Indian International Movie Awards on August 15 and 16 from 4pm to 11pm at Lusail Indoor Arena.
Shopping malls have also prepared shows and activities, including “The Little Mermaid” at Lagoona Mall and Cinderella Story at Hyatt Plaza Mall from August 11 to 15, The Carnival at Mirqab Mall, Balloon Drop at Landmark Mall on first day of Eid, Nickelodeon Rocks show and meet-and-greet at MoQ from August 11 to 17.
There will also be the Under the Sea roaming characters at all SiQ participating malls from August 11 to 19. Community programmes for workers at Old Wakrahh Beach from August 10 to 15 as well as summer camps.
Doha Festival City, Qatar’s unique, world-class retail, entertainment, and dining destination, will celebrate Eid Al Adha with a series of activities. From the Lego Festival, Gaming Festival to different dazzling events will make sure to satisfy all ages and tastes.
LEGO Festival
Doha Festival City, Qatar’s unique, world-class retail, entertainment and dining destination is hosting the first of its kind LEGO Festival running until 17 September 2019.
