Partial lunar eclipse to be on the evening of Tuesday

The last lunar eclipse of this year will occur on the evening of Tuesday, July 16, 2019, till the dawn of Wednesday, July 17, 2019; where its greatest time will occur with the time of full moon phase of Hijric month "Dhul-Qi'da 1440 H". Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced. 

 

 

The coming lunar eclipse will be partial lunar eclipse type; where Earth's shadow will block 65.3% of the full moon during the peak of the partial lunar eclipse. Added, the total duration of the partial lunar eclipse's phases will be 5 hours, and 34 minutes. Astronomer expert at QCH Dr. Beshir Marzouk said.

Coming partial lunar eclipse will be visible from Much of Europe, Much of Asia, Australia, Africa, South/East North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Antarctica. Moreover Qatar resident can see all phases of coming partial lunar eclipse. 

 Dr. Beshir Marzouk added. The partial lunar eclipse will start on the evening of Thursday and ending in the dawn of Wednesday; where the penumbral phase of lunar eclipse will start over Qatar sky at 9:44 Pm Doha local time, while the partial phase will start at 11:02 Pm of the evening of Tuesday, where the peak of partial lunar eclipse will occur after midnight of Wednesday by 31 min. Doha local time. The partial phase will be end at 2:00 Am; finally the penumbral phase will be end on the dawn of Wednesday at 3:18 Am Doha local time. 

For more information, there are three types of lunar eclipse: total, partial, and penumbral, moreover, during lunar eclipses you can look to the Moon with the naked eye, while during solar eclipses you cannot looking to the sun by the naked eye, but must using eclipse's glass or filters.

As known, Solar and lunar eclipses are important phenomena because they are validate astronomical calculations; where the solar eclipses happen before first of Hijric months (before new crescent), while lunar eclipse happens at the middle of Hijric months (at full moon phase).
