Have you ever wondered why you do not hear back from recruiters after sending them your CV? The truth is, there are many aspects of the recruiting/interviewing process that an applicant must understand.

Every job consultancy in Qatar needs a candidate, but a qualified one. Job seekers may not always have enough time to be selective, while the recruitment agency can wait months to find the right candidate.

You also need to consider the different types of recruiters, such as:

• contingent and retained recruiters - people who work for a third-party company independent of the company you are trying to work for

• company recruiters - works in human resources for the company you are applying for

Depending on how you applied to the job will change what type of recruitment officer you are working with.

Now the big question is: Why am I being ignored by a recruiter? Here are some possibilities to why you are not hearing back from a company specializing in manpower in Qatar:

1. Email Clog

There are hundreds of emails a recruiter can receive per day. The underemployment rate increases due to the current pandemic. That means that all those millions of people are doing the same thing you are doing sending emails to recruiters.

NOTE: If your email is not eye-catching, then recruitment agencies will most likely overlook it or delete it.

2. Poorly Written CV

When your CV is constructed poorly, any staffing recruitment in Doha will find it difficult to read and will pass over it. The average recruiter spends 5-7 seconds looking at each profile. If you can’t grab the attention of a hiring officer in that time span, chances are, your application will be ignored.

3. Bad Initial Interview

Most recruiters will screen you prior to referring you to the hiring managers. This is because they want to make sure that you have strong potential and are the right fit for the position.

If your initial interview went bad, they may not take time to explain to you why your application was not considered.

Remember: Recruitment agencies are not in the business of improving your interviewing skills. They need to fill jobs, period. They will thank you for your time and move on to the next candidate if you are not the person they are looking for.

4. You Are Not A Referral

Some outsourcing in Doha companies usually have a list of referrals.

What is a referral?

A referral is when a person you know refers you directly to a hiring officer or recruiter, thus allowing you to become a referral.

If you are not a referral, chances are the recruitment staff is ignoring you.

5. You Failed to Follow Up

Recruiters can be very busy and tend to forget very quickly as they are speaking with many people each day. In order to stand out from other candidates, you need to follow up with them. Remind them why you are a good fit for the job and that you are still interested in it.

6. Time-To-Fill

This method is a reporting statistic that all recruitment agencies must use as their performances are based on it.

What does Time-To-Fill exactly mean?

It is the time a recruiter takes to fill one particular job. Another reason that recruiters did not get back to you is because their time to fill is extremely slow. Some companies can take 6-8 months to fill any job post. This means that you may not hear from them before/after an interview or an offer. Therefore, you need to have patience or must move forward with another application.

There are many reasons as to why you are being ignored by companies you applied to. However, all of them can be fixed and thus improved. Stay positive and keep working at it. Remember: Hiring managers are looking for people who are passionate and excited to work for their companies.
