COVID yacht charter destinations to explore from the Middle East

The Mediterranean: Timeless elegance

The good news is that the EU Commission has already recommended easing restrictions on non-essential travel from overseas, stating that anyone who has had the final dose of an EU-approved vaccine at least two weeks beforehand will be permitted to travel. Children who have not been able to receive a vaccine should also be able to travel with their parents as long as they present a negative test, potentially with further tests on arrival. What’s more, spots such as Croatia and Greece are already accepting tourists with advanced PCR tests as an alternative to having the vaccine.

This means that, in the wake of COVID, yacht charter destinations throughout the Mediterranean will still be able to open up this summer to Middle Easterners. This could be the perfect opportunity to explore the French Riviera’s timeless chic, Italy’s beautiful coast, or the yachting paradise of Greece and its glorious islands.

Outside of the EU, visitors to Turkey’s beautiful coastline and vibrant cities will just need to fill a health declaration and present a PCR test taken less than 72 hours prior to arrival.

The Maldives: Blissful indulgence

For vibrant coral reefs and countless breath-taking vistas that will help you forget about COVID, yacht charter destinations don’t get much better than the Maldives. Think crystal-clear seas, powdery white sand, lush tropical surroundings and plenty of indulgent spa treatments. The Maldives are an easy option for anyone who has received two doses of a vaccine, without the need for quarantine or testing.  Other visitors have to present a negative PCR test taken at least 96 hours prior to departure, and must also fill in a Traveller Health Declaration form.

Oman: Fascinating adventure

With over 3,000 kilometers of rugged coastline, immaculate beaches and extraordinary, red-hued fjords, Oman is a fascinating charter destination that retains traditional, Bedouin values at its heart. It’s ideal for fans of outdoor activities, such as paragliding or quad biking, as well as shoppers keen to explore its vibrant souks, but there are also ancient forts, mosques and castles to discover.

Oman is currently issuing 10-day tourist visas and only requires proof of a negative PCR test upon arrival.

The Seychelles: Exotic and peaceful

At the crossroads between Africa and Asia, the exotic islands of the Seychelles are ideal for anyone looking to get back to nature and enjoy a slower pace of life, and are a haven for wildlife, with many unique native species both on land and underwater. Expect lush rainforest parks, Creole cultural attractions, and idyllic, palm-fringed beaches. The Seychelles require visitors to seek approval from the Health Authorities and take a PCR test 72 hours before arrival.

As the world continues to fight against COVID, yacht charter destinations of all kinds are possible for travellers from the Middle East in 2021.
