14 navy ships ready to evacuate Indians in Gulf

14 warships from the Indian Navy have been made ready to evacuate Indian expatriates currently working in the Gulf countries.

Speaking to an Indian TV station, Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar, the navy’s Vice Chief of Naval Staff, said that four of these warships were part of the navy’s Western Naval Command, a further four were attached to its Eastern Command, and another three were part of the Southern Command branch.

He said, “We've kept 14 warships ready for this. Four of them are in the Western Naval Command, four of them are in the Eastern Command, and three are in the Southern Command. We have a number of warships ready for evacuating Indian citizens from Gulf countries.”
