Game of Thrones
Remember when everyone around you couldn’t stop talking or obsessing about Game of Thrones? Yes, the hit HBO fantasy show did break the hearts of its fans with that dud of a finale, but it is still the single greatest show to have ever been made with the kind of scale it boasts. Needless to say, it has left behind a legacy, a fandom that likes to revisits theories and crucial points in the fights fought for and against Westeros. Not to mention, a potential franchise for HBO with the scope of varied story arcs and spinoffs from before and after.

Which is exactly why, HBO had earlier okayed House of the Dragon, a prequel that is based on George R.R. Martin's 'Fire & Blood' will be set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and will tell the story of House Targaryen. And now the reports state that it will not be the only one! According to Variety, the network is developing another prequel series that will bring to life Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas. The sequence of events here are set 90 years before A Song of Ice and Fire and will follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and a young Aegon V Targaryen (Egg).

An insider told the publication that while no writer has been brought on board yet, HBO is treating it with utmost priority. If you’re not in the know, Martin has published three novellas in the series so far; The Hedge Knight (1998), The Sworn Sword (2003) and The Mystery Knight (2010). In 2015, all three were also published together as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. And it’ll be interesting to see, if the series ever gets made, more Targaryen conquests.

Meanwhile, House of the Dragon, is expected to release in 2022. It was said that HBO has ordered 10 prequels of the series created by Martin, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.

Earlier, another Jane Goldman spinoff wax shot down by HBO after Naomi Watts filmed the pilot of the series that was tentatively titled The Long Night. Hopefully, it will not happen with The Dunc and Egg.
