Alia Bhatt hopes for safety of those affected by tragic Uttarakhand glacier burst; Shares the helpline number

Alia Bhatt took to social media to share her thoughts about the Uttarakhand glacier burst tragedy. The actress prayed for everyone's safety in the area affected by the flash floods.

On Sunday, the valley in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand bore witness to a tragic catastrophe where a glacier burst led to an avalanche and a deluge in the Alaknanda river system. The damage caused by the same affected lives of many and while the rescuers were sent immediately, the death toll is expected to rise as more and more debris is removed. Amid this, Bollywood celebs have been praying for the safety of the people affected in Uttarakhand and now, Alia Bhatt also has shared her thoughts on the catastrophe on social media. 

 

Taking to her Instagram story, Alia expressed her thoughts and prayed for the people who were hit by the 'tragic' disaster. Along with her note, the actress even penned the helpline number for all those who need any kind of assistance or information about their loved ones who were caught in the disaster that took place in the Chamoli district. Alia called the disaster 'tragic' in her note as she hoped for the safety of the people affected. 

Sharing her note, Alia wrote, "Yesterday's news of the glacier burst and flash floods in Uttarakhand is so tragic. I pray for the safety of all those who are affected. If you or anyone you know needs assistance, please contact 1070 or 9557444486." 

As per a report in NDTV, the rescuers are on the spot and the mission is going on. The report claimed that 14 lives have been lost so far and 170 are being reported as missing in the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand on Sunday. Several bridges that connected villages to towns and cities have been washed away and hence it is reported that the forces will airdrop food packets in the affected areas. As per the IAF sources quoted by NDTV, the Tapovan Vishnugad hydro power plant has been completely 'washed off.' Many celebs have tweeted about the tragedy and shared the helpline number including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Shahid Kapoor and others.
