Dynamite made history in more ways than one! Take it from a convert, it not only bagged BTS their first-ever Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance whilst breaking several records to emerge at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 songs list but it has now also made a real, tangible impact in the world of music. Not to say that earlier it didn’t; God knows we have all tuned to the single when things looked dreary. Only now, the ARMY can proudly say that their idols walk the talk like nobody in the business.

Furthering their philanthropic efforts, BTS sent over their colourful ensemble that RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook wore in the celebrated single. They K-Pop boy band handed the ensemble for auction to an American charity organization, Julien’s Auction, for their MusiCares Charity Relief Auction. The bidding for the same took place on Sunday the costumes have been sold for $1,62,500 (Rs 1,18,39,677). According to Billboard, it was more than eight times the amount they were estimated to bring in and it’s not surprising.

The Dynamite costumes have reportedly been bought by a Japanese art collector Yusaku Maezawa and YouTuber Hikakin. The charity that also auctioned Snoop Dogg’s self-portrait dog wearing a "Doggy Style 25", promises to provide aid to artists and music community professionals in times of need.

Earlier, Darren Julien, CEO of Julien’s Auctions was quoted saying, “Julien’s Auctions is proud to partner with MusiCares on this annual online charity auction that now-more than ever-is needed to help the devastated music community.” Needless to say, this isn’t the first time BTS has helped raise funds for a greater cause and help make a change.

“We can’t think of a better way to highlight the work of MusiCares than with this “Dynamite” contribution from BTS, whose groundbreaking music and uplifting messages of hope and optimism are what the world needs now. We thank BTS for their generous donation of their special one of a kind items whose proceeds will benefit this most urgent initiative,” he added.
