Shahid Kapoor is finally set to ride the digital wave and how! The actor who was last seen in Kabir Singh, the much talked-about Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, will be making his web debut with director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., better known as Raj and DK of The Family Man fame. They are teaming up for a quirk and unconventional drama thriller and fans can hardly wait. Earlier, there were reports about Kapoor appearing on Netflix that boasted of a huge signing amount but seems like the versatile actor will make his presence felt on Amazon Prime Video where the series will stream.
Not just fans but even the dad-of-two is excited about going the web-way and having Raj and DK guide him through it. He said in a statement, “My favourite Indian show on Amazon Prime Video is The Family Man. I couldn’t think of anyone better for my digital debut than them. I loved the story idea when I first heard it and since then it has been an exciting ride so far! Can’t wait to share this series with the audience.”
Even Raj And DK are raring to go and added, “For us, the objective is always to challenge ourselves to do better with every film or series we do. This is our favourite script and has truly been a labour of love. We found a perfect match in Shahid! He was always our first choice for this series. We hit it off immediately, and have been on the same page from the first time we spoke. Shahid is an exciting actor to watch and work with! The intensity he brings to his roles is amazing.” And if Kapoor’s ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Hai’ video is any indication, it seems like they make quite a team!
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is also coming at a theatre near you on Diwali with Jersey. It is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name. It was directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who has also helmed the Hindi adaptation of the film that revolves around a cricketer who makes a comeback in his 30s and wins against all odds. Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see Kapoor step into Nani’s shoes who delivered a sixer with his performance.
