Jordan and Egypt have welcomed the outcome of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit hosted by Saudi Arabia the historic city of AlUla on Tuesday.

In a statement, Jordanian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister of Ayman Safadi said: "The final communiqué by the GCC leaders is a major achievement to heal the rift and restore the relations to their normal course, which will bolster solidarity and stability in the Gulf region, serve people's aspirations for development and prosperity and strengthen pan-Arab solidarity and efforts to face common challenges."

He hailed the "keenness of all the brothers" to enhance Gulf and Arab solidarity and stability, which was manifest in the agreement to end the dispute and bring reconciliation."

The Jordanian minister valued the efforts of the late Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, which were pursued by the incumbent Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as well as the efforts of the US and all the parties to end the crisis.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian foreign ministry expressed Cairo’s keenness on achieving solidarity among the countries in order to consolidate the Arab joint action in addressing the grave challenges facing the region and supporting relations among the Arab countries based on goodwill and non-interference in the internal affairs of the Arab countries.

In a statement, the foreign minister said: “Egypt appreciates every sincere effort to promote the march of the Arab action and achieve reconciliation, including the Kuwaiti efforts over the past years.”
