The Kuwaiti Amiri Diwan announced Monday that HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait has accepted the resignation of HH Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his cabinet.

Kuwait’s Prime Minister presented the resignation of his Cabinet to Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah on Wednesday.

The move comes just a day after Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al Ali Al Sabah submitted the resignation of all Cabinet members, "in light of current developments regarding the relation between the National Assembly and the government," according to the official Kuwait News Agency.

Based on Kuwait's constitution, resignations must be submitted to the prime minister, who must then submit them to the emir for approval.
