Mandatory test for Expats to change one profession to another during residence transfer

At the beginning of 2020 the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) is resolved to stamp out dealing in living arrangement allows and will follow individuals who take advantage of loopholes to enlist expatriates in excess of 20 professions and occupations in light of the fact that as per solid sources, each visa is sold for more than KD 1,500 relying upon the nationality of the candidate, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel told the daily PAM has just set up controls to start change in professions,  leading eventually to put a conclusion to what is known as '‘residence trade'. She clarified PAM is getting ready obligatory tests for 20 professions if the laborer needs to change from one profession to another.

 

Al-Aqeel included these tests will be for car mechanics, electricians, security and safety supervisors, sanitary workers, technical surveyors, aluminum technicians, welders, lathe technicians, advertising agents, sales representatives, irrigation technicians, steel fixers, carpenters, construction carpenters, asphalt laboratory technician, purchasing officers, accountants, librarians, legal counsels and legal clerks.

She said that if the employee wishes to change his academic qualifications, he should leave the nation and come back with another work permit as per the scientific qualifications he wishes to work under. She noticed every one of these measures will be positive toward directing the labor market and constraining if not finishing the visa trafficking.
