This has been announced by Oman’s Ministry of Transport in the wake of taking precautions from the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a statement online, the Ministry said: “The Ministry urges all open boats operators along Governorate of Musandam coast to stop their manual handling operations of exports and imports immediately in the middle of the sea between them and the boats sailing to Oman from The Islamic Republic of Iran. This comes as a precaution procedure to counter the spreading coronavirus (COVID-19).”

They added that: “The ministry shall work with the concerned authorities to follow up the implementation of this procedure and will take the needed legal action against any violators.”
