Sheikh Nasser, Kuwait’s key reformer and son of late emir, dies

Kuwait's former Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al Ahmad has died aged 72 after a prolonged illness.

He was the eldest son of the late Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, and served his country in a variety of government posts, including as the country's defence minister. He also was the head of the royal court from 2006 to 2017.

Sheikh Nasser's death comes just months after the passing of his father, who died on September 29, at the age of 91.
