Sheikh Jassim Holy Quran contest concludes today in Qatar

Qatar News Agency announced the culmination of ‘Ratil w Arsil’ (recite and send) contest, which is one of the branches of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Contest at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

The second edition of the holy Quran reciting contests will began on April 26 on WhatsApp and Microsoft-Teams for citizens and expatriates.

A whopping QR140,000 worth of cash prizes are at stake for the winners. The top 10 winners from citizens and expatriates will receive cash prizes. 

The contest was divided into three categories. First is the 'Baraim' contest, which is held on WhatsApp No. 66581114 from 9am to 8pm. It has two phases:

1. Ramadan 3 to 7 - in which 10 participants each from citizens and expatriates will be selected and they will be asked to send documents as proofs of their identity and a new video by Ramadan 8.

2. Ramadan 9 -  winners will be announced on Ramadan 10.

 

 

 

The competition is participated in by citizens and expatriates, from age 6 to 12. They were required to send their video footage of recitation of  the holy Quran with maximum duration of 60 seconds after providing their name, age and contact number.

Those who are above 12 years old were also allowed to participate by sending video recording of maximum 1 minute of recitation of Holy Quran from 9am to 8pm.

All age 13 to 25 participants were also asked to send video footage of recitation of the holy Quran from 4pm to 8pm. The contest organizing committee has received 20 entries in a day.

The second category of the contest is a variant in reciting holy Quran which includes Riwyat Hafs recitation and others via WhatsApp No. 55592080 for phase one, and phase 2 on Microsoft-Teams.

The third category is Ajmal Telawa (beautiful recitation of the holy Quran) held from Ramadan 5 to 15.
