10,000 QAR penalty for giving false information, 5,000 QAR fine for not registering Qatar National Address

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has advised all companies in Qatar to remind their employees of registering their National Address and the deadline of the said registration. It urged everyone to register through Metrash2 or MOI website to benefit from the advantages of the national address and to avoid legal penalties for non-registration.

The registration was started on January 27, 2020. There is a QR10,000 fine for giving false information. 

The penalty also applies for not registering during the 6-month period, which ends on July 26, 2020. This can be reconciled to QR5,000 before reaching the court.

 

 

 

Many establishments have already circulated an advisory for this nationwide reguirement. One circular stated:

As an implementation for the provisions of the law No. 24 for the year 2017 on National Address, and Minister of Interior decree No. 96 of 2019 on implementing certain provisions of the above law,  the Ministry of Interior urges all Employees who didn’t register in the National Address until now, to register their national address before 26 July 2020 through the application of the Ministry of Interior 'Metrash2' or its website (www.moi.gov.qa), in order to avoid the violator of the above law any legal consequences.

Over one million people in Qatar have registered so far in the National Address while the registration process continues.
