3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will promote positive sporting values

As well as promoting the positive value of sport, the sports museum will showcase the origins, development and significance of sports culture within Qatar and beyond.
The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum – Sport is Us - will demonstrate to the world that sport and Qatar are intrinsically linked. It will be packed full of interactive exhibits, inspiring objects and unique activity areas that generate a spirit of participation.
As well as promoting the positive value of sport, it will showcase the origins, development and significance of sports culture within Qatar and beyond.

The museum showcases its collection in other parts of the world to create discussion and arranges global conferences on topical issues, such as doping and women in sport. It recently held a competition for amateur sports photographers, and helped set up Run the World – a sports festival for the Qatari youth.
It will be a widely recognized national and international centre for sports history, heritage and knowledge, promoting and encouraging academic research. 3-2-1 is also a member of the Olympic Museum Network, which currently unites 22 Olympic museums worldwide.
According to Abdulla Yousuf Al Mulla, Director of 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, “We envision to establish the museum as a testament to Qatar’s enormous appetite and enthusiasm for sport and it’s national ambition for the nation to become more physically active.”
Ahead of its opening, the museum is reaching out to residents through temporary shows in venues around Doha. Themes centre around the cultural phenomenon of sport, and include the Olympic Games, as well local and international sports events that occur in Qatar.
Highlights include:
OLYMPICS - Past & Present - the most comprehensive Olympics exhibition ever organised, which highlighted ancient Olympia, the modern Olympic Games and Qatar’s involvement.
Olympics Through Media - where visitors could discover the way in which the Olympics and the media influence each other.
Arab Games which highlighted Qatari achievements at this prestigious event.
