According to a tweet by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) on February 28 said that 12 different species of turf are being tested at their nursery to find the perfect grade for stadiums and training sites during Qatar 2022.

With an area of 880,000msq, the SC Tree & Turf Nursery uses the recycled trees which are received from different parts of the regions and donations made by the residents of Qatar in order to support Qatar 2022 sites, including stadiums, precincts and training sites.

The nursery housed 60 different types of trees and shrubs from Qatar, Thailand and Spain and at present is based in Umm Salal.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy in their tweet stated that, “In line with our commitment to deliver a sustainable tournament, the nursery’s irrigation trial area uses recycled water from the nearby Doha North Sewage Treatment Works Plant.”
