62nd meeting of ARABOSAI Executive Council concludes

The 62nd meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), hosted by the State Audit Bureau over two days, with the participation of the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Member States of the Executive Council of the Organization concluded on Tuesday, as it discussed many important issues on its agenda. 

President of the State Audit Bureau and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) H E Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, affirmed that the frank discussions and the exchange of constructive views enabled the Council to come up with a number of decisions and recommendations to advance the work of the organization and enhance its efforts in developing the audit   work at the level of the Arab world.

Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani added that the organization, thanks to the concerted efforts of all, including the General Secretariat, enabled us to turn challenges into opportunities, as we succeeded in developing the appropriate mechanisms to limit the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the work of our organization through the development of many pioneering initiatives that will contribute to the development of the institutional and professional capabilities of the various member audit institutions of the organization.

Member of the Executive Council of the Organization praised the great support provided by the State Audit Bureau of the State of Qatar to ARABOSAI, pointing out that the development projects and initiatives prepared by the State Audit Bureau and approved by the Council will contribute to activating the organization’s work mechanisms and enhancing its efforts to improve the performance of Arab audit institutions.

During the meeting, the Executive Council approved a package of development initiatives prepared by the State Audit Bureau of the State of Qatar for the benefit of the organization. A proposal to sign an MoU with the Arab League’s Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) was also approved, with the aim of benefiting from the experience of this organization in implementing the programs of ARABOSAI related to sustainable development goals within the fields of education, culture and science, the Council approved the final account for the year 2020 and the estimated budget for the year 2021.
