On Saturday, the appointed authorities referred 734 individuals to the Public Prosecution for breaching the country's prevention and precautionary steps to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

705 people were charged with not wearing masks in areas where they are needed, while 14 were found to be in breach of the permitted number of four people permitted in a car, including the driver, unless they are family members. While another eight people were arrested for failing to maintain a respectful distance from others, seven people will face charges for failing to update the Ehteraz software on their tablets.

The interventions are in accordance with a Cabinet resolution, Decree-Law No. 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the country's current precautionary measures to stop Covid-19 from spreading. The authorities urged the public to follow the safety precautions in place to ensure their own and others' safety.
