Abandoned vehicles being shifted to Al Meshaf, Mesaimeer & Umm Salal

THE removed vehicles are being transported to the abandoned vehicles collection unit at detention spots in Al Meshaf, Mesaimeer, and Umm Salal. Then, the legal procedures are applied by granting a period of six months, he added. Afterward, the cars are disposed of through public auction hosted by the ministry, or through local companies that directly dispose them of by cutting them and using their components. Lieutenant Yousef Fahd Al Ali of the General Directorate of Traffic said that the involvement of traffic department comes within the framework of its major role in removing abandoned cars during the campaign and supporting other authorities in monitoring abandoned cars and transporting them to the designated places. He said the General Directorate of Traffic strikes out abandoned cars from the registration system after the six-month deadline. The patrols also organise traffic during the removal process.
