COVID-19 Vaccination in Qatar
In its editorial Thursday, Al-Raya newspaper hailed the first stage of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination campaign in the State of Qatar, in an important and promising step in the national battle against the pandemic.

The paper expressed its pride and privilege that the State of Qatar is one of the first countries to provide vaccination for all citizens and residents, as it prepared to ensure that the vaccine could reach the country rapidly and safely, pointing out that several simulation exercises were conducted for the receiving process, to ensure that the vaccination will be safely transported and received until it reaches the warehouse of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and distributed to the centers, all of which was under supervised procedures.

The paper also hailed the efforts of the State of Qatar since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, where it immediately embarked on taking many successful precautionary measures and procedures that had a great impact in keeping matters under control, enabling the country to take the lead in its national battle against the virus.

The paper also pointed out that the first stage includes vaccinating 19,000 from the most vulnerable groups of people who are at risk of severe complications from the virus, such as people over 70 years old and people with chronic diseases, as well as primary health care workers who are frequently exposed to the risk of contracting the virus.

Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that Qatar has overcome difficult times, especially at the peak of confirming daily cases of COVID-19, and yet it has succeeded in reducing the risks while maintaining one of the lowest death rates in the world, which makes it imperative for everyone not to be complacent in taking precautionary measures to preserve this achievement.
