Art exhibitions compliment Katara International Arabian Horse Festival

Among the exhibitions is a display of manuscripts about the horses from the East and their breeds, an exhibition of the purebreds and horse paintings and saddles.

Katara - the Cultural Village yesterday inaugurated a host of activities to accompany the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival, represented by a number of distinctive art exhibitions that highlighted the status of Arabian horses from various creative angles.

Among the exhibitions is a display of manuscripts about the horses from the East and their breeds, an exhibition of the purebreds and horse paintings and saddles.

In addition to these art formations, there is also an effective three dimensional cubes on the ground, various art models, display of books on horses, an exhibition of photography on Horse Carousel, Carousel Carousel and Horse Postage Gallery.

Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Director General of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Katara International Festival for Arabian Horses, emphasized that the festival contributes to preserving Qatar's rich heritage in equestrian sport, in addition to strengthening the status of purebred Arabian horses locally, regionally and internationally.

He also praised the amazingly high artistic level of the different activities that accompany the festival and lauded the artists participating in the various exhibitions, expressing his admiration for the diversity of art schools dealing with horses which is the main focus of the on-going international horse festival.

With regards to the Manuscripts Exhibition on the Horses of the East and their dynasties which was inaugurated by the Director General of Katara in the presence of His Excellency Janusz Janki, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the State of Qatar, His Excellency the ambassador said, “The Manuscripts Exhibition on horses of the East and their dynasties documents present a very important trip of a Polish traveler to Arabia that took two years. The exhibition is of special importance as the drawings contain Arab horses and their descriptions, in addition to the Arab tribes that own the purebred horses and their noble breeds.” 

 

HE the ambassador emphasized that artist Wenceslas Seferin’s exhibition provides an 

accurate and comprehensive information for equestrian enthusiasts about Arabian horses, their breeds, breeding methods and their classifications, in addition to various maps of regions which were distributed by the Arab tribes to travelers that passed by the area.

Sheikha Sarah Fahad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Arabian Horse Center, Beit Al-Arab, said that the Al-Aseel exhibition includes wonderful artistic works and praised the festival organisers for the various sports activities relating to horses and the other artistic and cultural events that accompany the international horse festival.
