The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that part of Al Oqda Street will be closed in both directions, starting from its intersection with Al Khor Road towards Al Farkiyyah Beach. This temporary diversion will start on Tuesday, 15 December 2020 and will last for seven days, in coordination with Traffic Department.

Commuters can use Ahmad bin Jassim Street or any of the side roads of Al Khor Road to reach their destinations

During this period, commuters towards Al Farkiyyah Beach and residential neighborhoods East of the intersection of Al-Khor Road with Al Oqda Street can use Ahmad bin Jassim Street or any of the side roads of Al Khor Road to reach their destinations, as shown in the above map.

This diversion is to complete the final layer of asphalt works on Al Oqda Street as part of road development project round Al Bayt Stadium, which will contribute in enhanced traffic flow and infrastructure development in the area.

Ashghal ensures installing proper signages to alert road users on this traffic diversion, and requests all commuters to abide by the speed limits and to follow signages to ensure safety of all.
