Ashghal, the Public Works Authority of Qatar, announced today the opening of new underpass and bridge on Mesaimeer Interchange to traffic towards Al Wakra & Al Wukair from Industrial Area Road & E Ring Road.

The initiative was spearheaded by Ashghal, in collaboration with the General Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior. 

According to the local authority, the fresh openings will largely improve movement in all directions, alleviating traffic pressure on the nearby roads and providing more options for travelers.

"The 750m underpass will provide free flow traffic from Industrial Area Road towards Southern Doha Expressway as well as the 560m bridge linking traffic from the E Ring Road," the official mentioned on Twitter.

Ashgal added that traffic movement from Al Wakra & Al Wukair via Southern Part of Doha Expressway towards Doha Expressway and 22 February Street is still closed and is set to open by second quarter of this year.
