Awqaf ministry sets preventive measures during Eid prayers

As over 1,000 mosques and prayer grounds are all set to host Eid prayers, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has announced a set of preventive measures in order to curb the rampant spread of Covid-19 in the region. 
In a twitter post by Awqaf ministry, the advisory asked the faithful to wear face masks at all times whenever they are inside the mosque or on the prayer ground. Each individual must bring their own mats to the ground while the prayers must be done by maintaining 1.5m distance with each other on the ground.
 
The advisory said that, “No children below 12 years will be allowed while places for women will be closed.”
The worshippers must provide with green status on their Ehteraz application and must not shake their hands with another person The advisory called on all the worshippers to follow the proper guidelines by the officials and warned not to rush at the doors of a mosque.
 
Earlier the ministry had announced the preparation of 1,028 mosques in many places in the country to receive worshipers on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr prayers, which will be conducted at 5.05am, as tweeted by Qatar News Agency on Monday.
