Cabinet lauds Amir’s speech at Qatar Economic Forum

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.
Following the meeting, Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie issued the following statement saying that at the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet praised Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s speech at the opening session of the Qatar Economic Forum.
Then, the cabinet was briefed by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to curb COVID-19, the cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic. The cabinet also listened to a presentation made by HE President of the Planning and Statistics Authority on the first quarterly follow-up report for the year 2021 on the implementation of projects of strategic plans for the ministries. The cabinet also affirmed on the importance of the Ministries’ cooperation with the Planning and Statistics Authority to follow up the completion and implementation of the projects. 
 
The Cabinet took the necessary measures to issue a draft law on the protection of trademarks, copyright and the related rights of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), and that after the Cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council on the draft law. It approved draft decision of the Minister of Education and Higher Education to amend some provisions of Resolution No. /40/ of 2017 in the executive regulations of Law No. 23 of 2015 regulating private schools.
It also gave approval of the participation of HE Minister of Education and Higher Education in the membership of the Board of Directors of the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE), which was established in Saudi Arabia under the auspice of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The Cabinet also gave approval of a draft air transport agreement between Qatar as a first party and the European Union and its member states as a second party and another draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
