Carrefour Qatar hosted a beach clean up in Al-Wakra

On the 25th of last month, Carrefour Qatar hosted a beach clean-up in Al-Wakrah Municipality. The event saw a positive turnout with 30 people showing up. It is one of the many events that are led by Carrefour with sustainability initiatives, they are set to follow also throughout 2021.
Laurent Hausknecht, Country Manager of Carrefour Qatar said, “We continue to organise initiatives that align with our mission to set the standard for being a sustainable, responsible, self-sufficient business. As we grow, we strive to uplift our surrounding communities by giving them the opportunity to actively take part in events focused on environmental conservation.”
He added, “We thank Al Wakra Municipality for their partnership and appreciate the participation of our colleagues and all the volunteers who took part.”
A lot of the staff, colleagues and members from the Carrefour’s Al Wakra family have participated in the event
Carrefour’s sustainability plan includes several initiatives, such as cleaning beaches, running no plastic days in-store, and encouraging customers to shop with reusable bags.
