In a twitter post the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has said that children below 16-year-old will not be permitted to enter the Covid-19 vaccination centre at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
MOPH said that, “For everyone’s safety, children under 16 year’s old are not allowed to enter QNCC as it is designated for the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.”
MoPH’s Pharmacy and Drug Control Department has at the moment given approval for the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine only for those adults over the age of 16 and Moderna vaccine for people aged 18 years and above.
MoPH had recently announced a set of new steps to improve the entry and waiting process for patients wanting to receive their vaccination against COVID-19 at QNCC.

To avoid exposure to the high outdoor temperatures and offering a safe waiting area for all, the center's main parking spots are now being utilized as a point of arrival at the vaccination center.
MoPH had highlighted that earlier the Covid-19 vaccine was only given to people who have received invitations to get vaccination against coronavirus and who have met the criteria set forth in the framework of the national programme for vaccination against Corona.
People will receive an SMS showing the time and date of their scheduled appointment and must present their valid QID card when they attend. The vaccination center's operating hours are 7am to 10pm, seven days every week.
