CNA-Q signs MoU on health sciences with NSA

In order to extend its supporting hand for the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030), the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) signed a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday with the National Service Academy (NSA) of the Ministry of Defence. 
 
The MoU covers several areas of collaboration between both establishments, particularly with School of Health Sciences in CNA-Q. The agreement was signed by CNA-Q’s President Dr. Salem Al Naemi, and National Service Academy President Staff Major General Saeed bin Hamad Al Nuaimi. 
 
 
The former Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of CNA-Q’s Board of Trustees H E Dr. Mohammed Al-Sada, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Board Member in the College’s Board of Trustees Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Al-Naimi, and Vice-Chairman CNA-Q’s Board of Trustees and Managing Director and CEO, Qatar Petrochemical Co Dr. Mohammed Al-Mulla witnessed the signing of the memorandum. 
 
Speaking on the signing of the agreement, Dr. Al Naemi said, “We are proud to sign this MoU with NSA, and we thank them for their trust in CNA-Q. As an institution of excellence in technical and vocational education and training in Qatar, we will put our expertise, specifically the School of Health Sciences knowledge and its internationally accredited programmes, into the Academy’s service. This will be the first step towards tailoring one-of-a-kind applied programmes for the cadets to develop their physical and mental ability to become active members of society and play a leading role in the State’s development.”
 
He further added that, “CNA-Q’s counsellors will visit the Academy to introduce cadets to the different programs that the College offers and guides them to choose the right course of study. We thank the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for their continuous support to the College programs and partnerships that lead to further development in the educational and sustainability fields.”
The MoU offers both parties with a framework to conduct customized teaching programmes and academic initiatives. Meanwhile, NSA Physical Development Officer, First Lieutenant Ahmed Hassan Asheer, stated that the MoU would provide cadets with an initiative on top physical development.
 
Lt. Asheer said that “This MoU aims to enhance the cooperation between the National Service Academy and the CNA-Q in training and exchanging expertise, especially physical training and general health. This partnership will enable the NSA to provide top physical development programme for the staff and students in physical training backed by scientific research.”
 
“During the year at the National Service Academy, the students learn about the basic and general aspects and how to adopt a healthier lifestyle that will reflect on public health. This partnership will enhance the calibre of these programs provided for the students,” he added.
