CONMEBOL organizers announced today their decision to postpone this summer's Copa America in Argentina and Colombia and move it from 2020 to 2021.

The step was taken in light of the rapidly escalating coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide. It has been confirmed right after UEFA's similar decision to also put the Euro 2020 on hold by 12 months.

Initially, the Copa, South America's main men's continental competition, was slated between June 11-July 11. The two countries, will feature 12 teams including Australia and Qatar invitees for the first time.
