Countries Across the World Praise Qatar Airways for Flying People Back Home

Qatar Airways continues to go the extra mile in helping people return home from being stranded due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

The multiple award-winning airline has sent thousands of passengers from countries all over the world. It has also transported medical aid to areas affected by the pandemic, free for charge.

Paris Saint-Germain Football Club praised Qatar Airways on Twitter, saying:

Thank you to our partner @qatarairways to fully mobilize their ressources for taking people back home to their families.

 

 

The Ministry of Republic of France also experessed its gratitude to the airline and posted on Twitter with its translated message below:

"Thanks to @qatarairways for its responsiveness and agility in building capacity for repatriation, via @HIAQatar, thousands of # French people in the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Burma, Malaysia and Nepal."

 

 

Ambassador Hans-Udo Muzel of the German Embassy of Doha said they are grateful to Qatar authorities and Qatar Airways for assisting the Germans in Qatar in this challenging operation:

Currently, 1,000 of stranded Germans and other European tourists are brought home from Asia via @HIAQatar by @qatarairways."

 

 

 

Today, the airline announced it has been working closely with embassies around the world to help get their citizens home, as it shared on Twitter:

We have operated one-off flights to cities such as Phnom Penh, Bali and Manila. We carried over 5,000 passengers home on these services in the last week."

Qatar Airways has also carried out new plans on its operations including:

  • To operate larger aircraft on 12 global routes such as Perth, Paris, Frankfurt and London Heathrow.
  • To reinstate the Airbus A380, capable of carrying more than 460 passengers, wherever possible to get people home quickly.

Its message to all stranded passengers:

"If you are a stranded traveller, please ensure your details are up to date with your local embassy. We are working closely with governments around the world to increase capacity or charter special flights to help get their citizens home."
