Customs participates in 52nd regional meeting of customs directors in MENA

H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Jammal, Chairman of the General Authority  of Customs, participated in the 52nd Regional Meeting of the Directors of North Africa, near East and Middle Eastern Customs, held on Monday, 2/11/2020 on the (MS) Teams.

The meeting discussed several topics, the most prominent of which were the elections of the presidency of the World Customs Organization , the membership of the region in the committees, and the review of the results of the evaluation and testing committee for the position of regional technical attaché in the World Customs region.

The regional workshop for strategic outlook for the strategic plan of the World Customs Organization 2022-2025, which will be sponsored by the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization and the Regional Representative for North Africa, the Near and Middle East, was discussed, as well as the  meetings agendas of the Public Policy Committee (83) and the meeting of the Organization's Council (137) that scheduled to be held in December of this year.

The regional electronic tracking project for transit trucks passing through the countries of the region was also discussed, and the report of the regional technical attaché on the developments in the implementation of capacity building programs was discussed.

 

This comes within the periodic meetings in which the GAC participates in the region, and it is worth noting the importance of these meetings in increasing cooperation with Customs General Directors in North Africa, the Near and Middle East.​
