DEAP Qatar to organise beach cleanup drive for environmental prevention

The Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP Qatar) is getting ready to host a beach cleanup drive in northern Fuwairit, which aims at environmental prevention and to raise the awareness among public providing insights and information on the dangers of plastic pollution.
In a post on its social media pages, DEAP Qatar said this family- and children-friendly event will be held in “a sedan-friendly location though the last 1-2km are bumpy”.
The DEAP Qatar further stated that “We have very limited spaces, people must register. We are still in Covid-19 times, so we need to be responsible and respect the maximum number of participants in a public gathering,”
DEAP Qatar also mentioned that own transportation is required for all the volunteers desiring to attend.
Also, it is essential to have Green status on Ehteraz application, proper face masks at all times and mandatory adherence to physical distancing. All children below the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All the volunteers will be required to bring their own gloves – work or gardening gloves are recommended. Bags will be provided during the cleanup drive.
Everyone who takes part are also advised to wear a proper dress and must respect the local culture: shoulders covered, no small shorts. Long shorts or pants are preferred.
“Don’t forget sun protection and sun screen.” Bring your own food and drinks. Due to Covid-19, sharing food is discouraged. It’s getting hot, make sure to bring enough water. Reusable water bottles are encouraged. There are no any toilets or facilities on site. There’s always a petrol station along the way,” DEAP Qatar concluded.
