Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University, presided over the fourth meeting of the Board for the academic year 2020/2021, held via video conference yesterday.
The Board reviewed the decisions and recommendations of the third meeting for the academic year 2020/2021, and discussed the topics on the agenda and took the appropriate decisions thereon, including the approval of the appointment of Dr. Asma Ali Al Thani as Vice-President of the University for Medical and Health Sciences.
The Board approved the establishment of a bachelor of arts in fine arts programme at the College of Arts and Sciences and the establishment of two sub-specialisations in the College of Health Sciences, namely, public health and food safety.
The Board also approved the establishment of a sub-specialisation in business analytics and the expansion of the sub-specialisation entrepreneurship and innovation in the College of Business and Economics. Moreover, the Board reviewed the institutional accreditation report for Qatar University 2021.
