As part of the 13th edition of the Katara Tech Forum, the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) announced yesterday via its official social media accounts, a 12-day sports and technology virtual camp for kids is set to begin on Sunday.
"In partnership with Katara, the 'Digital Athletes' online camp organized by Studio 5/6 under the Ministry of Transport and Communications aims to "enhance the abilities of children in sports and technology while safe at home," said Studio 5/6. The camp provides six separate project-based workshops, each lasting for five days, for children in two age groups. The workshops include Sports and 3D Scanning, Target and Grab, and Code and Play for children aged seven to 10, while Ping Pong Coding, Sports Equipment Modeling, and Hurdling Games workshops are available for children aged 11 to 14. and look at different software used, among other things, to create digital competitions in various virtual sports. Studio 5/6, "a Fab Lab set up by the Ministry of Transport and Communications to nurture children and young people as digital learners by sharpening their learning abilities in the 21st century as they develop in an all-pervasive digital environment," presents the camp. In addition to updating and discussing best practices and international standards in Qatar and around the world, the forum facilitates learning about the latest trends in the world of information and communication technologies. The initiative also aims to contribute to the achievement of the objectives set out in Qatar's National Vision 2030
and to enhance collaboration with scientific institutions and organizations in Qatar and beyond, in addition to cultivating ties with local government agencies working to achieve the IT objectives of the National Vision 2030. Through holding specialized conferences, symposiums, and lectures on the latest information and digital technology problems and breakthroughs, the forum also bridges the gap between tech-savvy young people involved in information technology and information technology-based organizations. The 12th edition of the Katara Tech Forum explored how technology influences the learning and overall well-being of children, focusing on the positive and negative effects of the use of technology on the lives of children.
