Distribution of 340 Tons of Local Dates Imported from Registered Farms

The Ministry of Municipal and Environmental Affairs (MME) represented by the Agricultural Affairs Department has completed the implementation of its date distribution program. 340 tons was the total quantity of local dates imported from registered farms and distributed in a third and fourth groups, including 260 tons for Qatar charity and 80 tons for Qatar Red Crescent.

 

 

 

It should be mentioned that the first group of dates, amounting to 220 tons, was delivered in Qatar Red Crescent as well, while a second group of 10 tons was delivered to Hifz Al Naema (Saving food) Center, making it a total of 570 tons of dates distributed to charities this season.

The Date Distribution Project started in 2006, with an aim to motivate Qatari farmers to expand with their local dates produce in all its types.
