According to the local Arabic daily news Arrayah, an Expatriate has been sentenced to jail for five years by the Doha criminal court for possessing illegal drugs. An amount of QR 200,000 was also charged on him with regards to this. 

Arrayah reported that the man was taken into custody while waiting to receive a cargo sent to him by air mail from an African organisation that contained nearly 6.4gm of amphetamine.

After found guilty, the court convicted the man and imposed fine and sentenced him for a period of five years in jail, besides ordering his deportation after serving the sentence and confiscation of the seized illegal drugs.

This illegal drug materials were notice by the customs officers in charge of air mail when they received a small box containing a substance, which raised their concerns and doubts regarding an illegal material. It was confirmed that the box contained illicit drugs after opening it.

When the person came to possess the illegal drug, he was questioned by the officers if it belonged to him and the defended confirmed it did.

When the person was confronted with its content, the defended accepted that the illicit drug materials were ordered by him for trading purpose.
