Doha Metro reduces capacity to 20% on weekdays, no service on weekends, says Qatar Rail

Qatar Rail has announced that Doha Metro will reduce its operational capacity to 20% during the weekdays and will suspend its operation during the weekends as part of the limitations imposed in Qatar to curb the further spread of Covid-19 and to restrict the second wave from hitting the region.
Yesterday, the Qatar Cabinet re-imposed various Covid-19 preventive measures as the cases have been steadily and rapidly increasing and more people testing positive are needing fossilisation in intensive care.
In a twitter post, Qatar Rail said: “In view of the precautionary measures taken to reduce the spread of Covid-19, Doha Metro, metrolink and metroexpress services are operating at a 20% capacity from Sunday to Thursday.”
“Services are suspended on Fridays and Saturdays starting April 9, 2021 and until further notice,” they added.
