E-government portal sees an increase in transactions by 5.3% in February 2021

Total transactions from the Hukoomi e-government platform increased at a monthly rate of 5.3 percent in January 2021, and at an annual rate of 104.0 percent in February 2020, according to the Qatar Monthly Statistics Bulletin.


According to the Planning and Statistics Authority's bulletin, the number of transactions through the site reached 159,750 in February. The bulletin documents the country's most notable economic, social, and demographic developments in the economic, environmental, social, water, energy, traffic, and other fields during the month of February. The growth in gross deposits and total credit at a monthly rate of 1.3 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively, and an annual rate of 3.7 percent and 7.6 percent were among the most significant shifts (compared to February 2020).


According to census data, Qatar's overall population has dropped from 2.78 million in February 2020 to 2.66 million at the end of February 2021. In February 2021, the Social Security announcements totaled QR82 million, with 14,615 beneficiaries. The amount of social insurance rose by 0.02 percent on a monthly basis and decreased by 3.9 percent annually, while the number of recipients increased by 0.8 percent on a monthly basis and decreased by 5.8 percent on an annual basis.


In terms of construction permits released, the overall number of permits issued in February 2021 was 1,294 permits, representing a monthly decline of 6.4 percent and an annual increase of 94.9 percent.


Without counting the collisions that resulted in no injury, a total of 631 traffic incidents were registered in February 2021, representing a monthly decrease of 4.5 percent and a year-over-year rise of 2.3 percent.


Light injuries accounted for 89 percent of crash incidents in the same month, followed by serious injuries, which accounted for 9%. However, 14 deaths were recorded, accounting for just 2% of all traffic collisions.


The overall number of new vehicles registered in February 2021 was 5141 new vehicles. The statistic showed a 6.0 percent monthly decrease and a 14.5 percent annual decrease.
