Endowments Ministry and Katara attends ‘Doha, Capital of Culture’ events

 The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs and the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) along with strategic partners are taking part in the activities of Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World.
 Mal Allah Abdulrahman Al Jaber, representative of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs at the events of Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021, stated that there are activities offered by the ministry within the activities of Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021 as well as other events that are presented within the strategic partners. 
He noted that some activities of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs on this occasion were held during the blessed month of Ramadan, including the “Islamic Cultural Security” conference, which focused on the Muslim nation and issues of unity, diversity, difference and renewal. 
 
Speaking during the 360 Weyak (360 With You) program presented by the Doha 360 website, he pointed out that the events were affected by the coronavirus pandemic, as there were plans to hold the second edition of the competition for the Holy Quran, in which the winners of the first places in the Holy Quran compete from around the Islamic world, but it was postponed until the restrictions of the pandemic are lifted. 
During the same program, Director of Events and Cultural Affairs at Katara Khalid Abdel Rahim Al Sayed spoke about the role of Katara in the activities of Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021, saying that Katara proposed to the supreme committee for events to hold about 21 activities in Katara, which have already been approved, and will be held over the current year. 
Six events have been organized starting from the blessed month of Ramadan, including Katara prize for the recitation of the Holy Quran, Katara prize for Arabic poetry, a prize for short story, a mobile app contest on the love of the prophet “Mohammed” (Peace Be Upon Him), and a contest on the language in the Holy Quran, he said.
