The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) represented by the competent municipalities prepared parks and beaches that will be opened to visitors and the public in July. This took place in the context of preparing for the second phase of the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. Maintenance, cleaning and sterilization work was supervised in all parks and public gardens and cleaning of all public beaches in the country, with the necessity of taking all precautions.

In the municipality of Al-Khor and Al-Thakhira

The municipality cordoned off the game areas with warning strips to prevent their use in the Al-Tawasul Park, Al-Khor Corniche, Al-Thakhira Promenade, Al-Kaabaan Park and Al-Farkiah Beach. The Al-Farkiah Beach for families contains all services, including a masjid for women and men, bathrooms and umbrellas. The parks and beaches that will be opened to visitors are equipped through maintenance, hygiene and sterilization work while taking into consideration all precautionary measures in preparation for the second phase of the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Department of Services Affairs has prepared for the opening of public parks by carrying out maintenance and cleaning work for the municipality gardens. This coincides with the second phase of the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid 19), as of July 1.

And in the municipality of Al-Shamal

Intensive field campaigns were carried out to clean and equip the following: Corniche Al-Shamal, Al-Gharia Beach (Families), Al-Maruna Beach, Al-Jassassia Beach, West Abazlouf Beach, and Fuert Beach. Work was also carried out to supervise the maintenance and cleaning of services for pedestrian and sports corridors, toilets and hygiene services (garbage containers large and small), in order to preserve their aesthetic and cultural appearance, and prepare them for public reception.

Cleaning all beaches and islands

The Public Cleaning Department implemented extensive field campaigns to clean all beaches and islands, and to collect and remove tons of waste that have gathered as a result of the tidal movement in the beaches during the past period. This is in continuation of the Ministry's efforts to preserve the aesthetics of beaches and islands and in preparation for the second stage of gradual lifting of restrictions for beachgoers.
