An image being circulated online announcing that the Ministry of Public Health would address a press conference tonight at 9 is incorrect, the ministry has clarified in a tweet on Sunday.

The image shows a MOPH emblem and a text in Arabic saying that the ministry would provide the latest developments on the COVID-19 situation in Qatar at the press conference.

The health ministry often conducts press conferences to provide the latest on the pandemic. But they are preceded by formal announcements through the ministry’s official social media handles.

Such events are closely watched by many in Qatar as several crucial announcements, such as the re-imposition of some pandemic-mitigation measures and the vaccination status so far, were made at these press conferences.
