Aiming towards discouraging people from randomly dumping construction waste and planning to develop solutions to reduce this phenomenon which distorts the view of neighborhoods and increases the number of insects, the General Cleanliness Department has conducted an inspection campaign to monitor the phenomenon of random construction waste dumping in residential districts.

Mr. Moqbel Al-Shammari, Director of the General Cleanness Department, stressed that the private sector must commit to dumping waste in designated places as well as to comply with Law no. 18 of 2017 regulating Public Hygiene and Cleaning in order to avoid being held legally accountable. He thanked Lekhwiya security force for their prompt response and cooperation. He also thanked directors of municipalities for their constructive response and effective participation with regard to combating the phenomenon of random waste dumping.

It should be mentioned that Mr. Al-Shammari has formed a working group, consisting of Assistant Director of the General Cleanliness Department, Head of Beaches and Islands Section and some Department's inspectors, for the purpose of developing plans and solutions for the phenomenon of evening random dumping of construction waste in neighborhoods which leads to the their distortion in addition to multiplying the number of insects.

With participation of Mr. Mabkhout Al-Shahwani, Director of the Public Control Department at Al-Rayyan Municipality, the team began its operations by monitoring waste in Muraikh region. The team was assisted by a field working team to monitor all violations in the region.
