The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara yesterday successfully completed its Eid Al Fitr online festival, which in return had a great response from citizens and residents who took part in different virtual competitions.
The events that were held for four days starting from the first day of Eid Al Fitr, were organised online through Katara’s official website and social media accounts in strict accordance with the safety measures carried out by the state in its fight against the ongoing pandemic.
With the unprecedented number of entries to the competition on the most beautiful Eid outfits, Katara decided to increase the number of winners from the earlier set number of six winners to 17.
The competition, which was conducted from the first to the third day of Eid Al Fitr, was open to both boys and girls up to the age of 13.
Entries came in the form of high-resolution photos of the children wearing their best Eid outfits submitted via WhatsApp. Katara allocated cash prizes of QR1,000 for each of the winners.
Many children participated in the Question and Answer activity as well, which was organised throughout Eid Al Fitr holidays.
The event was carried out through Zoom platform and episodes were broadcast on Katara’s social media channels. The rise in the number of children who expressed interest to attend also prompted Katara to increase the number of participants to be accommodated in each episode of the contest. Each of them were awarded QR500.
For the Congratulations on Eid contest, entries were in the form of Eid greetings and congratulations in Arabic or English language posted on Katara’s Instagram account.
Two winners were selected every day during the first three days of Eid and each of the winners were awarded with cash prize of QR1,000.
Many attendees also enjoyed amazing virtual fireworks displayed that was done online during four days of Eid Al Fitr. They were displaced twice each day on Katara’s website and social media channels.
The activities that Katara initiated during Eid Al Fitr were welcomed highly and widely as Katara visitors received it with whole heart, expressing immense response and social media interactions as visitors took photos of the happy and precious moments they spent during their visit at Katara during the holidays which they eagerly kept posting on Katara’s Instagram account.
