HH Sheikha Jawaher Honors Outstanding QU Female Graduates

HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani, the consort of HH the Amir, patronized the 2020 graduation ceremony of Qatar University's 43rd batch of female students at the QU Sports and Events Complex on Monday morning.
A number of Their Excellencies members of the QU's Board of Trustees and QU Vice-Presidents attended the ceremony.
HH Sheikha Jawaher gave a speech on this occasion in which she recalled her memories of Qatar University, in which she graduated and returned to a postgraduate student. Her Highness urged the students to continue education, study, and scientific research for the sake of the nation's advancement, as this is the best way to build a conscious and responsible person who can contribute to the service and advancement of the country, referring to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's affirmation in his speeches regarding the priority of investing in people, which is evident in Qatar National Vision to achieve sustainable development.
 
Her Highness praised the level that QU has reached in the global rankings, and the efforts of the university administration and all its employees, indicating that the COVID-19 pandemic has made clear to the whole world the importance of investing in science and scientific research.
At the end of her speech, Her Highness thanked HH the Amir and the university faculty, congratulating the graduate students and wishing them continued success in their scientific life.
Her Highness honored the 374 outstanding female graduates out of the total number of 2,455 female graduates in various disciplines. HE President of QU Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham honored HH Sheikha Jawaher on the occasion of her graduation from the graduate studies of College of Business and Economics.
During the ceremony, a film was screened about the university's development and achievements in 2019-2020 in various fields. Also, HE President of QU Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham delivered a speech, saying that celebrating the female graduates is a celebration of the status that Qatari women have achieved in shaping the future of this country, and of their participation in the building of a dear and free nation, which is witnessing a renaissance in all fields.
Also, student Al Anoud Mohammed Al Zamil Al Kuwari, delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating female students, pointing out the expected role of female graduates in the renaissance and development of Qatar and supporting its development path in light of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The graduation ceremony for the outstanding graduates of Bachelor's degree and postgraduate studies of the 43rd batch (class of 2020) of QU students was held amid precautionary measures and preventive measures to limit the spread of the COVID-19. (QNA)
