International Praise for Qatar's Role in the Opening of 2021 MotoGP World Championship Season

Chief Executive Officer of Dorna Sports Carmelo Ezpeleta praised the distinguished role of the State of Qatar in the success of the 2021 MotoGP season-opening amidst the current challenges due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a press conference held Sunday, Ezpeleta said that Qatar has been remarkably successful in hosting the winter trials in preparation for the international championship, and has also succeeded in organizing the first two rounds of the tournament, while preserving the safety and security of all participants in the event.

 

He praised Qatar's distinctive and wonderful organization of the MotoGP World Championship, thanking the State of Qatar for the amazing hosting of the tournament.

He noted that Qatar has always organized very special editions of this big tournament that is watched by millions around the world, adding that Qatar Tour has become the opening round of the championship calendar since 2007, and everyone is happy to start this year in Qatar, thanks to the wonderful relationship between Dorna and Qatar.

On the participation of the Qatari riders, Ezpeleta said that three Qatari riders participated in the Asian Talent Cup on the sidelines of the tournament for the first time this year. He believed that they will have a good future with the continued support.

Carmelo Ezpeleta said that the State of Qatar has succeeded in achieving unforgettable historical sporting achievements, and now Qatar adds a new achievement to its track record, which is very important in the history of its partnership with the MotoGP. He once again thanked Qatar for the opportunity it gave to the MotoGP while reducing the risks of the pandemic.
