Josoor Institute, the education and training arm of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), is inviting people to sign up for its flagship diploma programmes in sports and major events management.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 legacy project will once again deliver the programmes in partnership with SDA Bocconi School of Management.
Each programme includes six week-long modules that will be delivered between September 2021 and March 2022. They are part of Josoor Institutes efforts to build expertise in the sports and events industries in Qatar and across the region in the lead-up to Qatar 2022 and beyond.

"By joining our programme, professionals from the sports and events industries will benefit from a world-class learning experience that will better equip them to thrive in their respective domains. Most notably, they will have unprecedented insight into preparations for Qatar 2022 and, once they graduate, will be part of a vibrant alumni community and professional network," said Afraa Al Noaimi, Executive Director of Josoor Institute.
This is the fourth year in a row that Josoor Institute has partnered with SDA Bocconi. The Milan-based educational establishment is internationally-renowned for offering a series of Masters degrees in a variety of fields, all focused around business administration and management.
"We are delighted to continue to generate value for the delegates," said Professor Dino Ruta, Academic Director of Diploma Programmes at SDA Bocconi. "They are a terrific group of enthusiastic and serious professionals from many different walks of personal and professional life, and represent the limitless potential the region has in leading the sports and major events industries. As such, we look forward to meeting the new delegates from next years cohorts to continue building capacities in the build-up to Qatar 2022 and beyond."
"Our successful collaboration with Josoor is an example of the reciprocity and mutual enhancement successful partnerships are built on, and is in line with SDA Bocconis vision and values," added Ruta.
Despite the pandemic, Josoor Institute and SDA Bocconi continued to successfully deliver the diploma programmes online, with limited disruption to participants, providing both organisations with much-needed insight into how to best provide educational programmes remotely moving forward. Classes of the current edition of the diploma programmes are taking place this week.
The sports management programme focuses on key professional and management aspects of modern sports business, encouraging students to debate and analyse its various facets and best practices, with a special emphasis on understanding the dynamics of sport that extend beyond the pitch. Meanwhile, the major events management programme equips delegates with an in-depth understanding of the global events ecosystem by analysing best practices from a variety of major events in sports, the arts, entertainment, festivals, concerts, conferences, museums and fashion exhibitions.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and good command of English are the basic requirements for admission for both programmes. Interested students can submit their applications through the Josoor Institute website.
In addition to diploma programmes, Josoor Institute offers a multitude of education and training programmes in sports management, event management, leadership development, workforce and related areas to more than 4,000 participants from Qatar, the region and around the world. Josoor Institute also runs a Knowledge Hub that hosts regular panel sessions involving leading international experts. (QNA)
