Jupiter and Saturn to approach Moon over Qatar sky

Qatar residents and all Arabic countries residents will have a good chance to seeing and observing two planets (Jupiter and Saturn) of our solar system  over sky during night time of September 2019, moreover, Jupiter and Saturn will approaching Moon at different times during August, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced.

The giant planet "Jupiter" will be at 2.3 degrees southern Moon's center over Qatar and Arabic region sky on Friday, September 6, 2019. Moreover, Qatar residents will have a chance to seeing and observing Jupiter and Moon together with naked eyes or astronomical telescopes over Southern horizon on Friday from the Sunset time on Qatar sky at 5:50 Pm Doha local time till the time set of Jupiter at 10:48 Pm Doha local time. Astronomer expert at QCH Dr. Beshir Marzouk said.

On Sunday, September 8, 2019, the Moon will be occult the planet with beautiful rings "Saturn" for a few time. So Saturn will be hide behind Moon for few time on night Qatar sky, while Qatar residences will have a good chance to seeing and observing Saturn to close Moon after it become appear again over Southern horizon of Qatar sky from the Sunset time on Qatar sky at 5:48 Pm Doha local time till the time set of Saturn after mid-night of Monday by 56 minutes Doha local time.

As known, an occultation phenomenon is an event that occurs when one object is hidden by another object that passes between it and the observer from Earth's surface, for example Moon passes in front of planets or stars, then Moon hide that planet or star for a certain period of time.

Dr. Beshir Marzouk added, the occultation phenomena will be occurring for our solar system planets 29 times during this year (2019), where Moon will be occult Pluto for 13 times, 12 times for Saturn, 2 times for Venus, and one time for both of Mars and Jupiter.

These astronomical phenomena are very important because it is guiding for amateur astronomers to know the map of the sky during this month, moreover, validate the astronomical calculations.
