Katara: 2021 Senyar Festival postponed due to the surge in Covid-19

Katara has decided that the 2021 Senyar Festival will be postponed as a preventive method due to the public health scenario as the numbers of Covid-19 cases are increasing rapidly in Qatar.
Katar in its twitter post said that, “Within the framework of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19 and within the framework of the precautionary measures adopted by the state, the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, announces the postponement of the Senyar Festival for this year 2021.”
The pearl diving and fishing contest (Senyar Festival) is intended to evoke memories of the past and revive the Qatari traditions associated with the sea. It also intended to revive the traditions of ancestors and their customs related to marine life and environment.
